Arrival by Public Transport
From Engelberg train station, the Sporting Park can be reached in approximately 5 minutes on foot.

When standing in front of the reception, follow the corridor on the left-hand side.
The changing rooms are clearly labelled as:

  • Athletes (female)
  • Athletes (male)

All changing rooms are equipped with showers. The changing rooms open 60 minutes before training, allowing sufficient time for an individual warm-up. During your booked training period, all equipment may be left in the changing room.

 

Changing Room Rules – Let’s Keep It Pleasant

  • Your space is not a battlefield → keep it clean and tidy
  • The floor is not a trash bin
  • If the changing room is not left in an orderly condition, it will not be cleaned by the caretaker.
  • No mobile phones – the changing room is smartphone-free
  • Respect everyone – regardless of age, level, or experience
  • Everyone is a role model – yes, that includes you

Use of the Ice Surface
These regulations govern the use of the ice surface for Patch Ice / ice rental and serve to ensure a safe, orderly, and efficient operation of the ice facility. All users of the ice surface agree to comply with the following provisions.

Scope
These regulations apply to:

Coaches and trainers

  • Athletes
  • Clubs and organizations
  • Private renters of the ice surface
  • Accompanying persons

The provisions apply to all rented ice times (Patch Ice) within the facility.

2. Responsibility of the Renter
The responsible person of the training group (trainer / coach / renter) is responsible for:

  • the safety of the athletes
  • compliance with all operational and safety regulations
  • order and discipline on the ice surface
  • the proper use of the infrastructure

The responsible person must be present during the entire ice session and must be at least 18 years old.

3. Safety Regulations
The safety and equipment regulations of the relevant governing bodies apply, in particular:

  • SIHF – Swiss Ice Hockey Federation
  • IIHF – International Ice Hockey Federation
  • SEV – Swiss Skating Federation

The responsible person must ensure that all participants:

  • wear the required protective equipment
  • comply with the safety regulations.

4. Entering the Ice Surface
The ice surface may only be entered once:

  • the ice resurfacing machine has completely left the ice surface
  • the ice technician has removed remaining water
  • the ice surface has been released by the ice technician

Entering the ice surface during ice resurfacing is strictly prohibited.

5. Authority of Sporting Park Engelberg
The Sporting Park team, the ice technician, and EDGEWORK have the right to give instructions at any time.
All instructions from staff must be followed without exception.
In the event of non-compliance with the rules, facility staff may:

  • interrupt training activities
  • remove individuals from the ice surface
  • close the ice surface.

6. Use of Goals and Training Equipment
The goals are provided by the ice technician.
The pickup and return point is located in the area of the ice resurfacing machine entrance/exit.

If ordered, the following equipment may be provided:

  • goals including goal anchors (battery drill)
  • shooting target
  • ice bucket

After training, all equipment must be returned to the designated location.

7. Entry of Athletes onto the Ice
Athletes may only enter the ice surface once:

  • the gate has been closed by the ice technician
  • the ice surface has been released.

8. Compliance with Ice Times
The booked Patch Ice times must be strictly observed.

  • The ice surface must be vacated at the latest by the end of the booked time.
  • Punctual operation is required to maintain the facility schedule.

9. Order and Cleanliness
All users are required to:

  • treat the facility with care
  • dispose of waste properly
  • take their personal belongings with them.

In particular, the following must be removed:

  • water bottles
  • training equipment
  • waste

The player benches must be left clean.

10. Use of Technical Infrastructure
The use of the ice rink sound system is permitted provided that:

  • the volume is set at an appropriate level
  • other users or events are not disturbed.

When using Bluetooth, registration at the reception desk is required. Alternatively, a playback device can be connected via an AUX cable (3.5 mm jack).

11. Changing Rooms and Infrastructure
Changing rooms may only be used during the booked ice time.
The facility must be left properly after the training session.

12. Liability
Use of the ice surface is at the user's own risk.
The operator / renter assumes no liability for:

  • accidents or injuries
  • loss or damage to personal belongings.

The renter is liable for damages caused by their group.

13. Video Surveillance
For safety and compliance with operating regulations, the facility is under video surveillance.

14. Entry into Force
These regulations form part of the Patch Ice rental agreement and apply to all users of the ice surface.
By booking ice time, the regulations are accepted.
